About
The history of this hospital goes far back. Its construction for this purpose started in 1806. During several phases, the building was completed with new floors and extensions to the wings or to the interior court (1853-1860, 1871, 1895, 1919, and 1923). The Romantic style is the predominant one, but from place to place, we can notice architectural intercalations specific to the English Gothic, e.g. the chapters is the shape of bastions from above the main gate. The initial design belonged to architect Kiss Antal, but the present building does not resemble very much the plan found at the Oradea Archives. It seems that the building has had the present form since 1895.
