This reserve is named after the Umgeni river which has different species of acacia trees all along its' course. There are six walking trails: Shelter falls ,Inkonka ,Black eagle ,Rietsspruit ,Grassland and Dwarfs' dawdle trai.They have an indigenous tree trail located around the offices for people who cannot manage the demands of the valley.Over 270 bird species have been recorded. They have a wide selection of accommodation available, ranging from rustic cabins to fully kitted cottages. They also offer fun and adventurous environmental education activities for all ages all year round.
