Many levels of dining comprise the Old Bridge experience. Outside-inside, formal-bar-style, and everything in between is possible in this atmospheric spot near Tvrda named after the 13km (8-mile) long oak bridge that linked Osijek and its marshy outposts in the 16th century. Try one of the restaurant's excellent pasta dishes -- you can choose a pasta and match it with any sauce -- or the Big Ben, a huge turkey shish kebab with grilled veggies. For dessert there is homemade strukli or knedle su slivama, plum dumplings that resemble sugar-covered jelly donuts filled with whole stewed plums. There is an extensive menu of Irish brews as well as lots of memorabilia from across the channel. Old Bridge offers live music in the downstairs room after 10 pm most days.
