About
Official name of Liaquat Bagh is Liaquat National Bagh. It is located in Rawalpindi, Pakistan and well known place for holding political gatherings and public speeches. During British Rule, it was called as Municipal Park. With the assassination of Liaquat Ali Khan in 1951 in this park, it was named as Liaquat Bagh. Since the inception of Pakistan, this place has witnessed many mammoth political gatherings, speeches and incidents. Benazir Bhutto was also assassinated at the main gate of Liaquat Bagh, when she was leaving the place after holding last public appearance as part of her election compaign. The Liaquat Bagh is located on Murree Road, Rawalpindi and has easy access from all parts of Rawalpindi. Good place for tourists visiting to witness the death point of Benazir Bhutto.
