Goocha

Corner of Dizengoff and Ben-Gurion Boulevards Cuisines: Seafood

About

The menu at this very popular place near the hotel district is fun and has real style, yet prices are quite reasonable. A fast turnover guarantees very fresh fish and seafood prepared in crispy mode or in great sauces such as butter and garlic; coconut milk, curry, and coriander; ginger and honey; cream, garlic, and chives; or tomato, basil, and thyme. Mussels, shrimp, and calamari are my favorites here, but starters are also scrumptious. There's steak, chicken, and veal available, and for NIS 25 ($6.25/£3.10), you can take away a paper cone filled with fresh crispy shrimp and calamari to munch as you window-shop trendy upper Dizengoff. A second branch is at 14 Ibn Givrol St.
