The Gayatri Jalashaya is a reservoir built by the Maharaja of Mysore across the river Suvarnamukhi. Gayatri Jalashaya was built to provide water to the nearby towns, cities and villages. It is nice picnic spot which is visited by tourists, particularly on weekends.
