Il Desco offers highly creative cuisine made with a variety of the best ingredients the Veneto has to offer, with warm fresh-baked rolls and odd amuse-bouches such as olive-oil gelato with a tomato coulis. They tend to serve all meat dishes -- from venison with pearl onions to salmon on a bed of lentils -- extremely rare, so order it ben cotto (well done) if you want it cooked beyond merely flame-kissed. Some recent examples of the kitchen's rich creations include papardelle with sea snails, pork ravioli soup with shrimp, and stuffed pigeon and salt cod. Desserts are stupendous. Though the service is refined and the food of the highest quality, the inflated prices keep me from recommending it beyond a single star.
