Antica Locanda Mincio
Via Michelangelo 12
Cuisines: Italian
About
Antica Locanda Mincio really can claim longstanding tenure, given that it was established as a stables in the 17th Century! The cuisine however, is much more modern, with a praiseworthy sensitivity to gastronomic developments: for example, the cheeses include bruss from Langhe (rare even in its native region) or the Trevigian "drunk" cheese and the same attention and care has been given to the selection of wines and spirits. Among the starters, the anchovies in olive oil, garlic polenta and onion soup are all recomended. Then come lamb cutlets with melted butter, and bigoli pasta in sardine sauce, followed by grilled fish from the lake, and pork chops with rare morel mushrooms. To finish, there is a well-stocked sweet trolley, with an outstanding apple pie.
