Bodega Del Riojano

About

Dating from the 1500s, this was once a wine cellar, the evidence of which can still be seen today in its time-blackened wooden beams and old tables. Locals call the bodega the "Round Museum" (Museo Redondo), because of its display of paintings on the ends of old wine barrels. Since 1940, this has been a favorite local tavern for both food and drink. Dishes are frequently changed on the menu -- in fact they're adjusted daily, and there are major seasonal variations. Always-reliable fresh fish can be grilled or baked to your specifications. Succulent pork chops also come from the grill. One of the best dishes likely to be featured is sweet red peppers stuffed with ground beef. The desserts are homemade daily.
