Hello,
We booked a trip to Amritsar, Dalhousie and Dharamshaala in the month of May 2019. Overall very satisfied with the arrangement and services provided by trip factory. The hotel rooms, the taxi service, the logistics everything worked out perfectly. In fact we were very apprehensive about the quality of the hotel rooms at Dharamshaala and Khajjiar, but they turned out to be better than expected! Specially I need to mention about Vijay Gn who provided us very valuable advise to us about every aspect of the trip, good job Vijay!
However I have a few concerns wherein Tripfactory will need to focus more on. They are as follows:
1. The driver Ajay allocated although drove very well and never made us feel uncomfortable seemed to have very little knowledge of the prominent tourist hotspots in Amritsar city. He asked us to switch on GPS everytime we asked him to take us to the golden temple area!!! Everytime he looked lost and eventually switched to GPS which always guided the vehicle through the very narrow bylanes (where the vehicle would be stuck) and we had no option but to head back to where we started from and ask local people for better routes!! This happened at least thrice. Additionally he always gave us wrong information about these spots, one example wherein he told us that shorts are allowed inside Golden Temple, however when we walked in we were not allowed!
Tripfactory needs to ensure that the drivers who accompany he tourists have a more professional approach, wear a badge, know the places where the tourists need to be taken to and also be fully aware of the rules and regulations.
2. We were clearly informed that we don't have to pay for the driver's food, however the day we landed in Amritsar and had lunch, we had to pay on behalf of the driver, I even inquired this on the telegram group where it was again confirmed that I am not supposed to pay. But seemed like Trip factory did not communicate to the tour operator correctly. However the driver was courteous enough to understand the concern and started paying for himself for the rest of the trip
3. The driver is not provided a copy of the itinerary of which all places need to be covered as per the package. We had repeated differences with the driver whenever we read out of the itinerary about the places we are supposed to visit, he would politely decline that he was not informed about the place. It took a lot of convincing from us to make him take us to the places we wanted to go and that was written and agreed in the itinerary. I would not like to hold the driver at fault here as he is not given the list of places to be covered during the trip.
Trip factory needs to make sure the local tour operator is trained well in all these aspects to make the experience even more memorable and would make people want to come back again and again!
