Quai de France
About
The rock climbing site of the Bastille, known as a via ferrata in French, is one France's rare urban climbs. Located on the west side of the Jardin des Dauphins, the Via Ferrata de la Bastille offers two different itineraries. The first measures 200 meters in length, with a vertical drop of 120 meters. It ranges from quite difficult to difficult in level. The second option measures 300 meters in length, with a vertical drop of 110 meters. It ranges from difficult to very difficult. Along the courses, there are two escape routes in case of inability to complete the course. Although access to the site is free, climbers must provide their own safety equipment such as helmets, harnesses, and tethers. Open every day from 9 am to 6 pm. March-November is the best time to climb.
