Tiffin ( Top Dorothy's Seat ) also known as Dorothy's Seat is located in Ayarpatta Hill at a height of 2292 mts above sea level. It is at a distance of 4 km from the main town of Nainital and is easily accessible by road. One can either take a pony or trek uphill to this point that gives a good view of the Himalayas and a partial view of Nainital along with its neighbouring towns. The place is named after Dorothy Kellet, an English Lady artist/painter, who died in a plane crash. This was the place where she used to sit and paint the beautiful town and its surroundings. Later, Dorothy's Seat started becoming a famous picnic spot for the Rajas who ruled this place and hence was officially converted into a picnic spot and locally named Tiffin top which denotes 'Packed food consumed during the day' Tiffin ( Top Dorothy's Seat ) / Dorothy's Seat is a Picnic Spot for nature lovers.
