About

This view point perched on the Ayarpatta hill at a height of 2,292 mts is built to dedicate the memory of English artist Dorothy Kellet. After Dorothy Kellet's tragic and untimely death in a plane crash, her husband and admirers got together to build a memorial to her. A terraced hill top which probably might have been the artist's favourite spot was chosen and a stonework picnic perch was built there. Hence the name 'Dorothy's Seat'. The local name for this spot is Tiffin Top as it used to be popular for picnics during the time of the Raj. Getting there is a pleasant 4 kms hike from the centre of the town and the viewer is greeted with beautiful, green vistas of the neighbouring countryside.
