About

Fishing in the River Nore can be very rewarding, as late spring fish can weigh up to 15 lbs. Grilse arrives in mid to late June with the main run normally coming in July. Further runs of grilse together with large salmon continue until the end of the fishing season. Where the River Nore enters the South East region near Durrow there is excellent riverine fishing for wild trout. Excellent stock of trout of a good average size can be found in the region between the Dinin River and the weir downstream of Kilkenny City. Other good trout fishing areas lie between Mount Juliet and Inistioge Village.
