The Dome at State Tower

State Tower (corner of Silom Rd. and Charoen Krung [New] Rd.)

About

This award-winning dining complex is home to three of the city's most popular (and at times, most expensive) dining venues, and two of the top-rated rooftop bars. Sirocco is a smart and stunningly positioned, supper-only outdoor terrace serving top-class Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, with live jazz most nights. On an adjoining outdoor deck, the Sky Bar is a chic, illuminated bar counter (no seats), perched meters above the seething traffic below. Access to both means taking a lift to the 65th floor and then descending down a vertiginously steep staircase, worthy of a Hollywood musical. Distil offers a more casual, low-lit lounge scene with a fashionable bar as well as great lunch and supper menus; there's a separate oyster counter and an unending list of spirits and fine wines (check out the private cellar). Upstairs from Distil, Mezzaluna is a rare and refined, contemporary Italian eatery with an open kitchen, serving five-star Italian food together with panoramic views of the city. The entire complex is geared for well-heeled, well-dressed professionals or high-spending holidaymakers who are looking for an awesome Bangkok experience; indeed, the views of Bangkok below are irresistible. See the website for details on the dress code, which applies to all venues in State Tower (including Breeze).
