About

In 1978, the Brisbane City Council opened Queensland's first planetarium. The Planetarium is named after Sir Thomas Brisbane, a Governor of New South Wales in the 1820s. The Planetarium is located within the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. It is a 15 minute drive from Brisbane City centre. See recreations of Brisbane's night sky in the cosmic Skydome, fragments of asteroids and spacecraft models in the Display Zone, short feature shows on astronomy and space missions in the Mini Theatre or stargaze with one of the Planetarium's astronomers in the Observatory. So much to see and do!
