Senior devotees Gangarambhai, Sundarjibhai and others from the Bhuj region of Kutch went to Gadhada where Swaminarayan was attending a Fuldol festival. In that festival, the devotees of Bhuj met Swaminarayan and requested him to construct a temple in Bhuj.
