Shivappa Nayaka Palace is situated in the heart of Shivamogga(Shimoga) city. Originally believed to be sprawled over 200 acres which had included a fort this is now a one storied marvel carved in exquisite rosewood.The Palace has two narrow flights of stairs on both sides which lead to a hall,few rooms and a majestic balcony.It is said that this balcony was used by the King to hold his durbars. The Palace has an open courtyard overlooking the well kept garden which houses few cannons and a massive bell.
