Scala Vinoteca

50 Sina Street Cuisines: European

About

For a chic-and-swanky setting in Athens that goes fine with some Mediterranean wine, head to Scala Vinoteca in Kolonaki set just in the middle of a stairway. It's based on the wine and tapas bars found throughout Spain and offers customers a taste of the other side of the sea. Architects Andreas Kurkulas and Maria Kokkinou built an elegant restaurant that's streamlined and easy on the eyes with soft lighting and wooden walls, one entire length of which is used for storing 80 varieties of wine bottles. Customers enjoy it all in their black, Eames fiberglass shell chairs. The tapas range from 7-17 euros per plate.
