Cuisines: Seafood
About
Sometimes we forget to spend time rhapsodizing about genuine New Orleans neighborhood family restaurants, with sawdust on the floor, a menu heavy on the po' boys and the fried seafood (not to mention the fried-seafood po' boys), and light on the wallet. You can get a big Italian salad here, one of the better ones around, and quite credible pizza, all in a noisy, friendly, low-ambience, utterly without-pretense dining room. You really can't go wrong with any of the fried seafood platters -- the oysters and shrimp are superb -- and the mixed platter can probably serve four. Of course, you will need that car we swore you could do without to get here.
