A newcomer to the Montreal vegeterian scene-- Yuan vegeterian--- is winning over many hearts, minds and stomaches in this city with their clean, chich and modern take on the ancient Bhuddist tradition of turning curds and glutens into duck, pork and beef (it might not sound sexy but the end results are delectable). Situated on the corner of St Denis and Sherbrooke, Yuan serves veggie dishes to perfection, many people like to bring along omnivore friends and then regale while watching them eat "duck" that has no closer relation to a feather bed than does a soy bean. The atmosphere is pleasant and no matter what time you arrive you will be served with grace and delight in the veggie heaven. There are a-la-cart dishes but there is also a dim-sum style all-you-can-eat buffet. And here's a great tip for you-- while the a-la-carte deals are a great value, you will be missing out if you don't partake in the buffet. Ideally the best time to go is Lunch when the all you can eat deal is almost half the price of supper. Whether veggie or not, you will be blown away by the quality of the food an attention to detail at Yuan Vegetarian.
