Running from 24 August to 22 September 2013 at Amsterdam’s historic Oude Kerk, this exhibition showcases the results of the annual international photography competition focused on sexual and gender diversity.2013 theme: ‘Extremely Normal’Photographs featured in the exhibition touch on one of four topics: gender, documentary, open category and this year’s theme of ‘extremely normal’ that examines the LGBT community beyond feather boas and shirtless club boys. It takes an ordinary look at the community’s everyday life. Winning photos feature subjects such as the third gender in Bangladesh, families of LGBT American soldiers, lesbian students in Moscow and the ‘muxhes’ (transgenders) from Mexico.Also look out for a selection of the winning photographs on major squares in each of the 7 city districts.
