Pin Valley National Park, created in 1987, is located in the Spiti valley of Himachal Pradesh. Spread over an area of over 675 sq km, the park is located in the cold desert area with altitudes ranging from 3,500 to 6,000 metres. Along with the Great Himalayan National Park in Kullu, it constitutes a protected area. The ecosystem of the park is maintained by the presence of the Paraiho River, which consists of rivulets, namely Kidul, Khaminger, Debsa and Kilung.
