Palacio da Independencia
Largo de Sao Domingos 11About
With a great location right in the historic center of the city, the Independence Palace was initially named Almada Palace after its illustrious owner, the Count of Almada. With its foundation being laid in 1509, despite restorations one can still find faint traces of Manueline influences especially in the inner courtyard. The Portuguese Historic Independence Society or SHIP is located within this historic palace.
