The Mcbride Gallery exhibits Irish artists who have achieved innovation and excellence, such as formal education, exhibitions in noted high-art spaces, critical acclaim from collectors, critics and their peers.It is a dynamic, centrally located and adaptable two level space, covering 1,300 sq. ft. and is flooded with natural light. The gallery was developed by collector Mary Mcbride and entrepreneur Alice Kelliher with advice provided by renowned collectors of Irish art, Mr. George & Mrs. Maura McClelland. The gallery is managed by Joanne McCarthy, BA Fine Art (Limerick School of Art & Design), MA History of Art & Architecture (University of Limerick). ABOUT CONTEMPORARY ART Contemporary art is created by artists who work in many media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing and photography. The "contemporary” emphasis is on the artists’ innovation in a particular discipline, pushing the boundaries of what king of representation they strive to create.
