A small gem half hidden along one of Salzburg's narrow, winding streets, Maier's offers fine dining in an unpretentious manner. Focussing on fresh, locally sourced organic ingredients, the chef, formerly of long-established Fingerlos, creates specialised menus that change weekly. The beef is particularly good. The room is small, setting about 25. The intimate size, commitment to quality and the enthusiasm of the staff opens the opportunity for a truly personal and relaxed dining experience. A favourite among Salzburg's young set, this 'insider's secret' is worth seeking out. It's located at the base of Kapuzinerberg, in the Neustadt (Right Bank).
