There is an asphalt road from the port of Thira (Fira) to the entrance of the lighthouse (parking). The nearest village Akrotiri is 5 km from the lighthouse. 
The lighthouse is fenced with a stone wall on the north side and barbed wire on the other sides of 2 m height. It is perimeter rocky, amphitheatrically and is not suitable for swimming. The nearest beach is Kokkini Paralia, sandy, but only accessible on foot. It is recommended the beach Perissa-Perivolos which has easy access and is suitable for children. The electricity supply is done through the PPC network of the island while the water supply is from a rainwater tank.
