Stunningly beautiful Singalila, mainly a trekking destination near Darjeeling, is one of the few places on Earth from where one can see four of the world's five tallest mountain peaks .It derives its name from the Singalila spur, which descends from Kangchendzonga and runs through the park. The park borders Nepal and Sikkim. A thrill of a different sort can be experienced in traversing the hilly terrain in a mighty Land Rover of 1950s vintage. Jeep-borne visitors, who want to try out a spot of not-too-difficult trekking, can drive up to Sandakphu, and then walk from there to Phalut. Recommended.
