There is a huge variety of choices for an evening out in Newcastle, but Hooties has to be the one if you are looking for a fun time with a difference. This American theme diner combines the functions of bar, restaurant, cabaret and karaoke club, and manages, by sheer brash confidence, to pull that juggling act off. The menu of steaks, burgers, and pizzas and pastas with a tex-mex theme, will satisfy most tastes (although vegetarians have limited choices), but it is the music and the live entertainment, including that provided by willing and well-lubricated customers, that really make the evening.
