Hidden away behind a rather plain exterior, the Romna Gate is a real gem. Step inside, take the stairs down (not ideal for those with mobility problems), and enjoy a really luxurious Indian experience. Better still, the prices are more than reasonable for such beautiful surroundings. Starters, including everything from prawns to chicken tikka are priced at under £3.00 and the wide range of main course specialties start from just £4.50. The choice is huge - from the usual madras and korma dishes to Malayan and Singapore specials, plus the chef's own choice and more than a dozen vegetarian main dishes. The late opening at weekends makes this the perfect choice for post-clubbers, or anyone else who feels peckish when most other restaurants have closed.
