A day at the beach is a little sweeter when you bite into a Balboa Bar. Balboa Island’s famed Balboa Bars are sold across the island. What's a Balboa Bar Well, it's a square slab of vanilla ice cream on a stick that gets dipped into boiling chocolate. Quickly, and before the chocolate cools to a hard crust, the bar gets rolled into an assortment of toppings. That's where you come in. Selections typically include peanut shavings, bits of oreo, and sprinkles. A few places also let you choose such toppings as butter brickle or crushed bits of Heath bar.
