Gnoll Estate Country Park
Gnoll Park RoadAbout
The wealthy industrialist family who owned Gnoll Park in the 18th century did the fashionable thing by transforming their estate dramatically and at great cost. Having shifted vast amounts of earth and stone, they added artificial waterfalls fed by diverted streams, high vantage points, lakes and ponds. They also planted large tracts of woodland. Since the 1980s, the local council has restored the park to its former grandeur, adding a golf course, adventure playground and a visitor centre with an exhibition on the history of the estate. There are excellent lakeside and woodland walks and you can fish in some of the ponds. Gnoll Park is only a short walk from Neath's main bus station.
