Genting Highlands means fun for all the family, with its casinos, bowling alley, landscaped lake, minitrain and bumper cars.This is one of Kuala Lumpur's prime recreational destinations. It boasts a family-oriented theme park, the country's largest theater restaurant and its only legal casino. There is also an indoor theme park. Other attractions include an 18-hole golf course, cable cars and a boating lake. As the resort is only 48 kilometers (30 miles) from Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands gets very crowded on the weekends and on school holidays. Located some 2,000 meters (6,500 feet) above sea level, the noon temperatures stay moderate, a respite from the city heat.
