Folk Art Museum
Bulevardul Tomis
About
It is one of the nicest museums in Constanta and one of the best of its type in the country. The building itself is a XIXth century elegant structure built in Romanian style (aka "Brancovenesc"). It has an impressive collection of folk costumes on display, on the 1st floor, gathered from all over Romania and a comprehensive collection of glass icons from Transylvania, on the ground floor. Traditional tapestries and household objects complete the museum's set of exhibits, in a successful attempt to provide people with insight into the real life of Romanian peasants, from the different regions of the country. If the visitors need an English speaking guide, the museum can provide one with no extra charge. There is also a small souvenir shop on the ground floor, which takes both USD and EUR, with nice handcrafted items for sale. There is a WC on the ground floor, too.
