About
It’s not a classic California beach as you’d picture it, but it’s not the tumultuous, often fog-bound Pacific either.
In the Central Valley, it is sunny just about every day from May to October, and it gets real hot, making the clear, clean waters of Lodi Lake a treat.
This manmade lake—fed by the Mokelumne River —and the surrounding environs, shaded by oaks, is as pretty as it gets. You can also rent pedal boats and kayaks, but bring lots of sunscreen and an umbrella. We’re talking 100 degree scorchers, now coolly managed with a well-timed splash into the water.
