Chapramari forest in Western Dooars is famous for its abundance for Indian elephants. It is one of the most important tourist destinations of the northeast. A nature lovers treat, it is home to the royal Bengal tiger, Indian bison or Gaur, Asian elephants and many other rare species of animals, reptiles and birds. A wide variety of trees and plants are also found in abundance here. This place is a dreamland for bird watchers as well. There is a watch tower from where animals can be spotted from a distance. Chapramari Wilderness Camp at Panjhora is also worth a visit.
