About

A lot of attractive golf resort packages come through our mailboxes at VISIT FLORIDA. The Omni Orlando Resort and Villas at Champions Gate stopped me cold in my gmail tracks with two little words. “Man Cave.” From now through April 30, 2013, the four-diamond-rated Omni Orlando is offering a “Links & Drinks” package for, as their folks say, “guys who prefer a club in one hand and a Scotch in the other.” (Dad, these people might know you better than Mom.) The package, starting at $500 per person for two nights, is perfection. Daily rounds are booked on the Greg Norman-designed National and International courses, unlimited golf is included on the Champions 9 short course and an hour of private instruction is offered at the on-site David Leadbetter Academy. After golf, sunset cigars and Scotch tasting is on tap at Piper’s Grill. And as for that “Man Cave”, that’s a steak-and-potato dinner with a stocked beer cooler in your two- or three-bedroom villa, which is equipped with a grill. Jackpot! And this doesn’t have to be a trip where you ditch the woman in your life; tell her to ride along and invite friends for the “Sticks & Stones” package, also running through April 30 and starting at $592 per person for two nights. The same golf setup is offered, then afterward a chopsticks and sake dinner is on tap at Zen, the resort’s fantastic Asian restaurant. Throw in a 50-minute hot stone massage and deluxe accommodations, and a great getaway for women is complete. For more information or to book, call 1-800-The-Omni or visit their website .
