The annual Carnival of Venice comes to town in a colourful celebration of this city on water with a masquerade cocktail party in true Venetian tradition.Venice is the most recognisable city in Italy, built on 118 islands and surrounded by the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas. Carnevale, celebrated around the same time as Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, is one of Italy's biggest, with the Venetian tradition of masquerades dating back to the 13th Century. In celebration, Mezzo is presenting a masked cocktail party featuring the bounties of the ocean with seafood, entertainment, vino and good times.
