Some artists feel compelled to create gigantic pieces best viewed from the moon. But bigger isn’t necessarily better – just ask the folks behind Mailbox 141. In the running for the title of Melbourne’s Smallest Gallery, this exhibition space is actually a row of glass fronted former letterboxes located in a building foyer. It also happens to be positioned in one of the city’s most art-saturated precincts. Works change every two months and are often designed specifically for the display cases.
