Can Alfredo

16 Paseo Vara de Rey Cuisines: European

About

This is, without doubt, one of the city's best restaurants. It opened in the 30s, although since then it has changed hands twice. The present owner, Joan, has managed to make the restaurant a must for tourists who want to have a taste of real Ibizan cooking. The walls are decorated with photos of the many famous people who have dined here. The menu has some of the island's most typical dishes, such as "sofrit pagès" - a dish consisting of fried potatoes, meat and sausage - or "bullit de peix" - a fish and potato stew. The rice dishes are also highly recommended, especially the black paella made with squid ink. The wine list is one of the few on Ibiza to include local wines.
