About

California Cantina is gringo-owned, and it shows. It's a cozy bar with lots of space for seating groups, with a sidewalk café, several interior rooms and a great upstairs patio complete with its own bar and twinkling lights. It's festively painted inside, and has quickly become both a neighborhood hangout and hotspot for foreigners. The menu includes giant burgers and decent, oblong, thin crust pizza with tasty toppings, like arugula, and humuus lovers won't want to miss their multi-hued versions. There's pub grub, including some twists on Chielan specials and even fried calamari and two types of wings. They have a very good beer selection, and lots more to choose from on the drinks menu, including 16 types of mojitos and caipirinhas. The bar show important US sports events, during which time you can be sure that more than one group of homesick (or sports-sick) foreigners will be on hand. They also show local partidos (soccer matches) and have a happy hour from 4 to 10 PM daily.
