Beiling Park (Zhaoling)

Taishan St

About

Within the Beijing Park is the stately walkway that leads visitors to the Zhaoling Tomb or North Tomb, where the second Qing Dynasty emperor Huang Taiji rests. If you are not interested in a history lesson, visit the surrounding park in any case. Although within the city limits, the imperially manicured gardens and lakes are a field day of fresh air, people watching and leisure. In the morning music can be heard as group exercise is undertaken by locals. In the afternoon, both old men and children come here to fly kites. A variety of drinks and ice cream can be had from traveling carts in the summer time. Be aware that the park and the tomb have separate entrance fees and separate hours, the tomb closing before the park.
