Cuisines: Seafood, Spanish
About
Just a 5-minute walk from the cathedral, this restaurant specializes in seafood and shellfish prepared in the Catalan style. It opened in 1950 in the cellar of a relatively modern building and today is run by the third generation of its original owners. Within a pair of nautical-themed dining rooms, you can enjoy sopa de pescados (fish soup) Tarragona style, romesco (ragout) of sea bass with herbs, an assemblage of fried finned creatures called fideos rossejats, and several preparations of sole and hake. If you're not interested in seafood, grilled veal, chicken, or beef are offered. The list of Spanish and Catalan wines will complement any meal. The staff is well trained, polite, and proud of its Catalan antecedents.
