Bada Bagh and Chattris

A popular excursion option from Jaisalmer the Bada Bagh and Chattris lie only about 7 km away. Here you find a large area of ruins consisting of a dam, gardens and statues. These were once built by by Raja Jai Singh II and completed later by his son. The ruins are a place of great desolate beauty now and tell the story of attempts by a ruler once upon a time to bring water to the dry Thar desert area.
