About

A little-known pub and eatery on a narrow side street, this well-managed establishment is the perfect place to meet friends for a relaxed evening of conviviality. Touted as an authentic "Argentinian brasserie" (few would be in a position to argue) the wood paneled, dimly-lit interior creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. A small bar with uncomfortably high stools is built into one wall of the dining area, but most prefer to have their drinks at the heavy wood dining tables that line the other wall, all spaced to provide a modicum of privacy. A spiral staircase climbs to the bathrooms and a room with large tables that the management sometimes uses for groups and private parties. Strangely, Angus Steakhouse lists only one steak option on the menu, which is a charcoal-grilled steak with pepper, mushroom or bleu cheese sauce accompanied with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The rest of the menu is an assortment of continental fare at moderate prices, but all well-prepared and generously portioned. The attentive staff welcome those simply dropping in for a beer after work, continually dishing out free popcorn.
