Al Manhal Palace
Airport Road (Airport Road), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Phone: Not AvailableAbout
Al Manhal Palace is one of the oldest palaces in the city, stunningly beautiful with its canopied wings and Arabic tiling - a fantastic example of Abu Dhabi's traditional architecture. The eccentric Sheik Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan lived here for many years, before moving out in 1974, after which Al Manhal Palace was unused for a number of years. In the mid 1990s, the government made efforts to restore Al Manhal Palace to its former glory, reinvigorating the lush Al Nahyan Gardens and renovating the interior before opening it to the public. Nowadays, the palace serves as a cultural attraction relating to Abu Dhabi's rich history.
