The Zuckerladen, or Sugar Shop, is a Heidelberg Institution and is an absolute must-do especially if you are looking to tame that sweet tooth. Just walking by the storefront, you might not even notice the entrance to a shop or might even believe it to be an odd abandoned storage location of some sort, but walk inside, smell the sweet smell of sugar, have a chat with the storeowners, and go on your way with a bag of your choice of candy and your first impressions will surely melt away. Of course you cannot leave the store without playing a game with the cashier to win some additional sweets, which is always fun, even for adults!
