About
Chef-owner Debra Paquette has been consistently named one of Nashville's best chefs, and Zola's wine list has received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the last few years. Rustic country-French decor lends warmth to the restaurant, where service is friendly and polished. The exotic menu is laced with Mediterranean appetizers such as Moroccan spiced scallops with sweet potato and pistachio griddle cakes, passion fruit sauce, and pomegranate glaze. The specialty of the house is Grandma Zola's Paella, steaming risotto studded with fresh fish, juicy scallops, ham, artichokes, shrimp, and homemade Spanish sausage drizzled with a tangy green aioli. Zola's French Laundry is a deliciously different mélange of arugala, radicchio, diced green apples, toasted hazelnuts, Stilton cheese, and cured orange peel drenched in a champagne vinaigrette.
