This creative contemporary string quartet has no fears, be they tackling abstract classical music or pop music greats, so expect yet more surprises when they perform their ‘Heroes’ programme at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ on Friday, 20 September 2013.Repurposing pop musicWithin their ‘Heroes’ context, Zapp 4 is providing an unconventional and humorous classical twist to renowned pop songs, performed with the help of singer Vera van der Poel and African percussionist Afra Mussawisade. Along the way look out for works by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell and Radiohead – of whom they recently released a mind-bending tribute record.The performance begins at 20:15.
