Bistro Jeanty brings a bit of the French countryside to the heart of the Napa Valley. If the lacy curtains, vintage posters and cafe tables aren't French enough, the menu at this Michelin-starred eatery certainly is. With choices such as coq au vin (chicken, mushroom, bacon, and red wine stew), sole meunière (filet of sole with lemon-caper butter and mashed potatoes) and cassoulet (baked beans, duck confit, sausage, and bacon), Chef Phillipe Jeanty makes diners feel as if they've teleported to the Loire. The only part of the Jeanty experience that's remarkably American is the wine list; instead, the restaurant offers a host of reliable local wines. After all, it is the Napa Valley.
